Computers- The first computer available for commercial use hit the market in 1951. Large companies purchased computers. Banks used computers to help process checks. This helped the bank because they didn't have to pay employees to count the money.
Medicine- Jonas Salk developed a polio vaccine. Before the polio vaccine children would be in danger of losing there legs and making it hard to breath and chances of them to die. Having the vaccine helped a lot of people survive this disease.
Agriculture- Because of genetic engineering the farmers can control weeds more effectively while doing less harm to their crops. This means that they are going to have more crops and the money is going to increase.

Great job Vanessa! I am proud of your nailing the tech/med developments on the nose... Without these advancements we would not be where we are today! Just think how different our lives would be without the computer, as an example. Everything in society changed from that one simple things! How has your life changed from these various medical, agricultural and technological advancements?
