The U.S. and Mexico had agreements like treaties before like The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, in which the U.S. bought California, Nevada, Utah, and parts of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and Wyoming. Another treaty is The Gadsden Purchase which bought the rest of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and Wyoming. They currently have an agreement called The North American Free Trade Agreement. It is the largest trade bloc in the world in terms of combined purchasing power parity GDP (gross domestic product) of its members.
